We can't say enough good about Mary, Joe, Tony and the rest of the crew. We found them on Houzz, by chance. Basically, we threw a dart and landed in the bullseye. I know they are proficient in new home remodel etc...but they SHINE in Historic remodels. Ours is the historic craftsmen house remodel featured here. You literally cannot tell the new from the original. They have the resources, the talent and the attention to detail needed when it really counts. Probably the most frightening part of hiring a contractor was knowing if we could trust them (w/ money, skill, timeliness etc). From the first time you meet Joe & Mary, you will know...THEY ARE AS GOOD AS GOLD AND THE MOST TRUSTWORTHY team you'll ever meet. You can trust what they say. Their ethics are exemplary! They finished our projects a few years back (and have been working on neighbors projects since!), but they could still keep the key to our home and come and go as they wanted(not that they would)...that's how much we trust them. Their lead man, Tony... what a jewel. He is a hard worker and as honest and talented as it gets.Read More

As most of you know remodeling is not a painless process but Mary and Joe did their best to help make the process less painful for us. They worked with us on the plans until we got the layout that we liked for the area we have, it took a few tweaks to accomplish what all we wanted in our basement along with it all being wheelchair accessible. We wanted a Victorian/Rustic feel to our basement and they helped us achieve this unusual combination of styles. To help keep the rustic feel going we had them paint the ceiling in a warm chocolate brown. We added a bathroom that has a “spa” feel to it, we had the tile floor heated and a zero entry shower. The countertop for the kitchenette was made by Joe and is made from slabs of wood (we got to select the wood pieces with Joe’s help…the slabs are made from trees that were cut down in our area of town) with a live edge. We enjoy entertaining in our basement and our happy we have an area in our home to do this. Thank you Architectural Craftsman for a beautiful basement.Read More

Architectural Craftsmen were selected after a series of interviews and meetings with local contractors. While down to earth and friendly they were also the most professional contractors we interviewed. Their schedule was very busy so work started was about 3 months after initial meeting. This was a mutual decision and they started on schedule. Very diligent in the performance of the project (master bath remodel) and very good about protecting the rest of the house during construction. Absolutely no damage occurred to any part of the home they had to pass through to accomplish the project. Mary was excellent to work with in figuring out a design and finishes that met our taste. Joe and Crew also performed excellently to complete the work on time. No surprises, so while there was "down time" waiting for shipments we added our other two bathrooms to the project and these to were completed in excellent fashion. Would highly recommend this company to anyone in the area.Read More

Joe Thompson and his crew of Architectural Craftsmen did a great job for us on a complete remodel of our upstairs main bathroom. The room was taken down to the studs, a wall moved to accommodate a larger spa tub and was re-plumbed to a 2-sink configuration. His crew was great about keeping the mess to a minimum as demolition and construction was in progress, and he was very receptive to slight changes we requested along the way. Mary helped us figure out what our needs and wants were with this remodel and assisted us in choosing the tile, fixtures, cabinetry and countertops with great advice and guidance in the process. They were very aware of budget constraints and in keeping that target in mind. We are very satisfied with the quality of workmanship, price and how our new bathroom looks and functions.Read More

Architectural Craftsmen was our contractor for a new master bedroom/bath suite. They also converted an old full bath into a beautiful powder room. Working with Mary and Joe made the process very simple. Mary was great to meet with me at the various suppliers, helping me to sort out all the myriad of choices when it comes to a project like this. Their workers were courteous and professional and the job was completed to our satisfaction! I would (and have) recommended them to others who are considering renovations.Read More

We have been a client of Architectural Craftsmen for more than a decade! After designing and building a large new deck onto the back of our home in October 2001, we hired Architectural Craftsmen to remove 2 large (floor to ceiling) windows and install a new custom sliding glass door with a transom in thier place in the spring of 2004. By putting a door from our great room to the large deck, we now have much better flow for entertaining and much improved ventilation for those days when you do not need (nor want) to run the air conditioner! Joe and his team also installed tile in our master bath the following year. It was a huge imrovement over the builders' standard carpeting! We plan to do a major remodel of our master bath in a couple of years, and will definately look to Architectural Craftsmen for ideas and construction!Read More
